One thing that makes me love photography so much is documenting a story. Watch this beautiful couple grow from their announcement in August, to their baby bump session in January, and finally the arrival of their beautiful baby boy.

Owen is not only the cutest little peanut but he did AMAZING at his studio newborn session. I am in love with every single image we captured but here are a few of my favorites!

I met sweet baby nora in the studio a few weeks ago. I fell in love as soon as I saw those gorgeous brown eyes of hers. Here are a few of my favorite from her milestone session.

We wished for snow and mother nature delivered. This engagement was a dream. Here are some of my favorites<3

I met the white family when they had their second daughter Lucy. I have had the pleasure of documenting their lives over the last 18 months and loved every minute of it!

It is such a honor to be invited into a family’s home to capture their life. This one is extra special because the parents are photographers over at Yellow Tree Photography. Check out some of my favorite images from their newborn lifestyle session.

I cannot wait to share with you my favorite images from this amazing twin session where I was Vanessa and Vinnie’s Lifestyle Photographer. I wanted to start out by mentioning that their Mom, Andrea, is what I like to call a “client-turned-friend.” She started off as a client of mine at the salon, we hit it off immediately, and we quickly formed a friendship on top of the typical client relationship. I love when that happens, because it makes lifestyle photography sessions so much more natural and organic; I can seamlessly document your family’s life stages, and instead of it ever being stiff or awkward, everyone is used to me, and the laughter is flowing from the beginning.
Anyway, back to their session. I contacted me about doing a classic diner session for her twins Valentine’s Day photos. I’ve been photographing the twins since Spring 2016, we also do annual family photos for their birthday, as well as Christmas ones. So I when I wanted to do a unique session for them we decided to head over to Red Knapps American Grill in Rochester, Michigan, for a fun themed Valentine’s Day photo shoot.
Red Knapp’s is the perfect diner for a throwback session theme like this, with the black and white checkered flooring, and the 1950’s-esque decor and vibe. Andrea dressed the kiddos perfectly, too. I couldn’t get enough of Vinnie’s red and white Chuck Taylor shoes, or Vanessa’s Mary Jane red shoes and bobby socks. And that leather jacket of Vinnie’s? So cute. I can only take notes from Andrea for the future on how to dress my own son if I ever have one!
I know that this precious diner date of Vanessa and Vinnie was too cute to not share here on the blog, and I hope you enjoyed this small preview into when I was their Michigan Lifestyle Photographer for the day. If you’re in the market for a family photographer, I would love to chat with you and hear about how we can collaborate for your perfect lifestyle photography session.

Being a Michigan lifestyle photographer is a huge passion of mine. I love documenting all the different stages of life, in a natural, organic, non-posed way.
Many of you may now know this, but I am also a hair stylist at Bocci Salon. I met Marissa through the salon where we both work. Marissa’s fiancee, Jared, surprised her recently by proposing to her during their recent trip to Colorado. It was a sweet intimate moment for the two of them, and when they returned to Michigan, they contacted me to photograph their engagement and be their Michigan lifestyle photographer for the day. I was thrilled to capture their love for each other, and let that truly be the highlight and focus of their engagement session.
If you didn’t get the chance to check out the Downtown Detroit Christmas markets that popped up throughout the city, you should really add that to your holiday bucket list for next year. They were seriously stunning, and had tons of secret and intimate hide outs within them that are perfect for some loving snuggles and sweet kisses, and, of course, tons of laughter and silliness.
The markets will be in town until January 28th, just in case you didn’t make it downtown to check them out. There are tons of areas around the markets that are perfect for a holiday themed lifestyle engagement session. I can’t get enough of the fire pits, big glass atriums strung with pretty twinkle lights, and the lush decor of locally sourced artists or stores. In the Capital Park area, they also had over 100 Christmas trees there everyday, available for people to purchase and take home. It was gorgeous to see these lush, snow-covered trees, in the middle of a downtown metropolis with the looming skyscrapers, chock full of Detroit history, in the background.
I look forward to Marissa and Jared’s wedding next year, and following their love story and documenting the evolution of it along the way.

If you’re looking for a Michigan Lifestyle Photographer, I would love to connect with you and chat about your perfect session.
